GMT Logistics, Lowerstoft, is basically a one man band called Jack Neilson. They shipped our car last year to Southamptom, were late picking it up and added £10 per day extra to the storage charge, despite it being their fault it was stored, and withheld title til fees paid. We have now found out they have not compleated correct import docs, and we cannot register car. Seem very nice at first, but dont answer emails or phone, and have found out since they are notorious amoungst shippers for bad/fraudulant services, have had a number of court cases,

Recommend Schumacher Cargo They helped us try and sort things out, but case still ongoing......

how did GMT get involved with the shipping of your vehicle , did you approach them or where they recommended to you ? i have had a vehicle shipped into Felixstowe from Houston Texas and the handling is / was done by GMT , they got all the paperwork sorted QUICKLY , all funds transfered to customs the same day , this was all done within under 2 hours from myself transferring the funds form my bank , customs got cleared the same day 14/04/2008 , but a week later i still do not have the vehicle and i do not know where it is . There was trouble with the duty being paid on the other vehicle in the container , but this was sorted on Thursday 17/04/2008 when the container was removed from Felixstowe docks at around 4pm , now i do not know where my vehicle is or what is going on , but lets just hope its the old saying all good things come to he who waits .

got my vehicle yesterday 22 / 04 /08 , collected it from Cargo secure Ltd in Felixstowe whos service was great , could not fault them , a real pleasure to have their services .
the situation that happened with my vehicle was not down to GMT but the fact the other vehicle in the container did not pay their duty , because from what i gather was they thought you just buy the vehicle pay for shipping and handling and thats it  , this is where homework and knowledge come into importing anything wether cars or any goods .
also the container was not taken from the docks until monday 21 / 04 /08 yet i was told by customs it was removed before that date

I'm one of those who had previous bad experience with Jack Nielsen, through his previous company RST International. See my comments on http://www.transportreviews.com/company ... cs-ltd.asp

Those comments prompted 4 other people to contact me, all who've had similar recent experience with Nielsen. The common thread seems to be that if anything goes wrong anywhere in the shipping chain (land transporters, marine shipping lines, clearing agents etc.), Nielsen can't (or won't) be bothered to act on his customers behalf - never mind that your contract is with him, and the others are his subcontractors! When you start to complain, he soon makes himself unavailable, leaving you track down the others and sort it out yourself.

In my case, I had paid him extra for shipping insurance which he never put in place. I'd be interested to hear if he's done the same with other of his victims: If so, there's a good chance he could be charged with fraud! The man needs to be stopped.
